Role of Hematological Parameters in Predicting COVID-19 Disease Severity

Background: Nowadays there is a global crises due to the emergence and spread of corona virus (CoV-19). This life threatening problem at present as it causes severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV). Aim: To explore value changes in routine hematological parameters for prediction COVID-19 disease severity among admitted patients. Study design: Experimental study. Methodology: Patients (n=222) having were enrolled. They divided into two groups depending on disease. ITC non-ITC. All patients underwent CBC inflammatory markers. Various markers used prognostic Independent t-test Chi square applied p <0.05 was taken significant. Results: Mean age 49.40±16.26 while mean with mild 40.88±15.48. NLR significantly increased (p value<0.0001). Among biochemical parameters, serum ferritin, CRP LDH value<0.001). D-Dimers elevated 68.75% group-A 17% group-B p-value<0.0001.
